Hospital Services Overview
Gift of Life works to ensure that the nursing, medical and administrative professionals at the region's hospitals are fully knowledgeable about organ and tissue donation practices and can support patients and families along the entire donation and transplant continuum of care.
Gift of Life Donor Program is committed to maintaining excellent collaborative working relationships with our many hospital and healthcare partners. It is the organization’s goal to ensure that hospital partners feel fully prepared and knowledgeable about organ and tissue donation practices and can support patients and families along the entire donation and transplant continuum of care.
The commitment and support provided by our hospital partners is the reason that approximately 1,865 organ transplants took place last year in our region. We look forward to working together to continue to help and heal lives.
The Hospital and Health System Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) Hospital Challenge
The HAP “Donate Life Hospital Challenge” is a competition among Pennsylvania’s hospitals and health systems to increase the number of organ and tissue donors and to increase the number of donor designated drivers. The Hospital Challenge typically runs from April, in conjunction with National Donate Life Month through August.
The goals of the HAP Challenge are to:
- Increase the number of organ and tissue donors; and
- Conduct expansive awareness and educational programming within hospitals/health systems and their communities
