National Minority Donor Awareness Month Resources
Please find 2022 NMDAM downloadable materials below!

Multicultural communities play a vital role in donation and transplantation. National Minority Donor Awareness Month, celebrated each August:
- Focuses on outreach to provide education about organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
- Encourages donor registration and family conversations about donation.
- Promotes healthy living and disease prevention to decrease the need for transplantation.
NMDAM helps address concerns and raise awareness of the importance of organ donation among communities of color, which make up nearly 60 percent of the more than 100,000 people on the national transplant waitlist. NMDAM is also a time to honor the multicultural heroes who made up 30 percent of living and deceased organ donors last year.
Working together, we can increase the donor registry in multicultural communities, build a positive culture of organ, tissue and cornea donation in all communities and achieve a day when no patient dies waiting for a second chance at life.
