Your caring support has never been more essential!

After waiting five years for her life-saving lung transplant, Sandra Pabon thankfully received her gift of life in March of this year. Despite that, she still had a long recovery ahead before she could return home.

Due to complications post-transplant, Sandra remained under sedation for four months at the hospital in Philadelphia. During that time, her husband David stayed at Gift of Life Howie’s House to remain by her side in the city, and their four children would visit whenever they could.

“This program made it possible for my family to stay close to my mom while she continued to fight for her life. It gave us a community to turn to full of people who were going through the same experience we were,” says Kelsey, one of Sandra’s daughters.

Sandra, who is now back at home, says “the House made it possible to not go through it alone”.

Families like Sandra’s depend on the House during their darkest days. By making a charitable gift today, you can help keep families close, and Light the Way Home for them this holiday season.

You can help transplant patients and families, and the Gift of Life Howie’s House grow stronger together by making a gift today.
