Kidney recipient and Gift of Life Donor Program Volunteer Ambassador Timmy Nelson appeared on the radio program “Her Health Matters” hosted by Dr. Safiyya Shabazz on WURD Radio.
Timmy shared his personal experiences as a transplant recipient and dispelled myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation. This interview aired days before the start of National Minority Donor Awareness Month, which raises awareness and celebrates organ donation and transplantation in communities of color and promotes healthy living and disease prevention.
