The increased risk in our area associated with coronavirus has greatly impacted our day-to-day lives. Our concern is first and foremost for the health and well-being of our community, volunteers, transplant recipients and donor families. If you are scheduled to volunteer or participate in any Gift of Life Donor Program events this month, please note that we are suspending all in-person events and programs through April 30.
We are closely monitoring local, state and federal guidance, and will provide updates via our website, social media and other communication channels about programming after April. However, due to its size, we have already decided to postpone the 25th Annual Donor Dash, originally scheduled for April 19.
We understand and firmly support the need for heightened sensitivity and precautions related to infectious diseases. We join everyone in hoping that COVID-19 will soon be contained, and in wanting to do everything we can to support this. Our thoughts are with everyone who is facing or concerned about illness.
We encourage all to follow precautions and updates from these and other agencies:

Given the continued heightened sensitivity surrounding COVID-19 the 25th Annual Donor Dash has been postponed. Thank you to everyone who planned to participate and help us promote organ and tissue donation. We look forward to celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Donor Dash at a later date.
For the past 25 years Gift of Life Donor Program, together with our dedicated volunteers, has hosted the Donor Dash to promote organ and tissue donation. The Dash celebrates the life-saving power of donation and honors all of the donors who give others a second chance at life.
The popular annual event, which attracts more than 14,000 people from throughout the tristate region, raises funds to educate the community about the need for more people to register as organ and tissue donors. Held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, it is Gift of Life’s largest and most visible event of the year.
Proceeds from the Donor Dash benefit the Transplant Foundation, the charitable foundation that supports programs and activities for donor and recipient families. These include Gift of Life Family House and Team Philadelphia‘s participation at the Donate Life Transplant Games of America.
