"Threads of Love" Donor Memorial Quilt: Quilt 56
Kevin Austin didn’t like to sing in church but would never miss a chance to sing “Take me out to the Ball Game” during the seventh inning stretch. He loved hot wings and anything dipped in, coated, or made of cheese. Kevin didn’t love dogs; dogs loved Kevin. He read programming books for fun and frequently said things like “close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades “ and when you asked him how he was doing, he’d respond “peachy.”
Kevin was the founder of a fantasy football website called fantasyleague.com. He loved his job and always said he didn’t work a day in his life. That’s what the footballs on his quilt square stand for.
Kevin loved baseball. Toward the end of his life, he made it a goal to see as many minor league baseball games as he could. He also coached both of his daughters in softball. That is what the baseballs on his quilt square stand for.
He loved the outdoors and did some of his best thinking while hiking. The picture on his quilt square is from a hike over parts of the Appalachian Trail in April 2015.
He was loved by so many and will be missed. Always in our hearts and forever on our minds.
