Spread The Love For Valentine’s Day Digitally

February 14th- cue the red and pink hearts, along with images of Cupid’s arrow that seem to be everywhere leading up to the big day. But did you know National Donor Day takes place on the same day as Valentine’s Day?

Both have the same underlying message- spread the love! What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than to spread awareness to loved ones about giving the ultimate act of love- donation. In the United States alone, a staggering amount of individuals are waiting for a life-saving transplant- 112,637 as of January 2012.  In our region alone, there are 6,468 people on the transplant waiting list as of January 2012.

Take the time to spread the word about organ donation by sending a Valentine’s Day eCard to your family and friends. By sending a Gift of Life Donor Program eCard, you’re not only letting your loved ones know how much you care for them but you are raising awareness that may be key in an individual being able to celebrate another Valentine’s Day.

Along with sending a personal message, the eCard also contains the link to register online to become an organ and tissue donor.  In 90 seconds, family and friends can register to become a donor!

Help the Gift of Life Donor Program spread the love and word about donation by sending your loved ones an eCard today!

Love comes in many ways but none as awesome and beautiful as when someone signs their donor card. Kayla is living proof of the unselfish gift of life someone gave to her on Feb. 1, 2012. Thank you to the donors family for that precious gift. Hugs on this Valentine’s Day to all donors and their families.

my son died jan 20th and it was the worst thing that has ever happened to me in my life and i had him donate his organs excetra to the gift of life program because i believe that is what he would have wanted it was the only thing that i had to make sure he is still on the earth i pray that he saved lives and that the people who have recieved part of him live wonderful lives and know that they are so special and blessed to have a part of my beautiful boy who will always be a hero to me inside of them !

Donation was the only positive side of our son, Joe’s death. It has been so helpful to know that he lives on in the lives of all the people’s lives he has touched….sending love to my son on Valentine’s Day….we miss you so much!
