Writer/Communications Coordinator
This is an exceptional opportunity for the experienced writer/public relations professional to oversee the production of newsletters, marketing materials and related collateral materials used throughout the organization.
Gift of Life Donor Program, the non-profit agency serving eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware, is responsible for recovering and distributing organ and tissues used in life-saving and life-enhancing transplants.
This is an exceptional opportunity for the experienced public relations professional who possesses strong writing skills and enjoys writing, editing and overseeing the production of newsletters, marketing materials and related collateral materials used throughout the organization. This position requires frequent contact with employees at all levels of the organization, vendors, partners and the general public. Responsibilities include publications development, writing, graphic design, web site maintenance, photography support, and other duties. You will operate desktop publishing software and equipment to design, lay out, and produce camera-ready copy. You will prepare, rewrite and edit written material to ensure correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling and improve readability. You will conduct basic research to verify facts, dates, and statistics, using a variety of reference sources. Working in consultation with the CR Director, you will develop and coordinate internal and external marketing efforts to support promotion of programs and events and assist in media relations
Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field plus three years experience in writing and editing required. Experience in media relations or medical/healthcare environment preferred. Computer proficiency in Windows environment, Internet research, graphic design, photography and desktop publishing required.
