Social Worker (Family House)

This is an exceptional opportunity for the experienced MSW to provide Provides individual and family services consisting of emotional support, assistance with adjustment to illness, crisis intervention and advocacy to patients and families staying at Gift of Life Family House.

Gift of Life Family House, the non-profit subsidiary of the Gift of Life Donor Program, is a 30 unit hotel and support program that provides hotel & hospitality services to transplant recipients, families and guests.

This is an exceptional opportunity for the experienced MSW to provide Provides individual and family services consisting of emotional support, assistance with adjustment to illness, crisis intervention and advocacy to patients and families staying at Gift of Life Family House.

You will network and coordinate community resources on behalf of families including regular contact with hospital social workers and other outside agencies as needed; Evaluate family functioning and assess need for intervention or other services; Provide ongoing assessments, support and follow-up to families as needed; Identify needs of client population and work to develop House programs and services to better serve identified needs; Assist with obtaining funding for family programs by utilizing community resources, grant writing or other fundraising techniques; Educate staff, volunteers and other families regarding issues such as family privacy, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, grief and loss issues, etc; Coordinate use of Family Emergency Fund, Family Assistance Funds, Adopt A Family requests; Collaborate on all family activities with House Manager and Resident Manager, in particular special holiday giving programs for families; Oversee the college Social Work internship program; and Manage prioritization of families with Director when House is at maximum capacity and assist families with exploring alternative housing options.

Masters of Social Work and three years of directly applicable work experience in similar or related environment required. The ability to develop and carry out plans/goals, establish priorities, effectively multi-task, and effectively communicate and work with volunteers and contributors required. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office required.
