Community Relations Liaison

This is an excellent opportunity for the newly experienced community relations or public education professional to assist with coordinating educational programs and special projects and events aimed at increase public awareness of organ and tissue donation and transplantation.

Gift of Life Donor Program has an exciting full-time opportunity available for the newly experienced community relations/public education professional to assist with coordinating educational programs and special projects and events aimed at increase public awareness of organ and tissue donation and transplantation

You will work closely with the Special Events Coordinator organizing Gift of Life's "Team Philadelphia" participation in the bi-annual USA Transplant Games. Duties include sending mass mailings to team members; organizing team meetings; initiating sponsorship and solicitation activities; media relations; and coordinating efforts with the Transplant Games office. Other duties include completing on-site projects; coordinating public awareness campaigns; working closely with Department of Motor Vehicle licensing centers located throughout our service region to increase donor designations; assisting in implementing and coordinating the recipient kit campaign; providing administrative and clerical support for large community relations' events such as Dash for Organ Donor Awareness, NOTDAW events, Donor Family Recognition Ceremonies; coordinating one Donor Family Recognition Ceremony; and maintaining department databases.

Bachelor's degree in education, communication, marketing, public health or related field and a minimum of two years experience working in non-profit public relations or a responsible administrative capacity are required. Must possess excellent organizational skills and demonstrate the ability to work with diverse group of staff, volunteers and other constituents. A valid driver's license, an automobile and ability to travel, work nights and weekends is necessary. Bilingual Spanish language competency a plus. Must be able to demonstrate competency using Microsoft Office, Raiser's Edge, Kintera and Power Point within 90 days of employment.
